NOVEMER 2016

Awarded runner up, receiving a $3000 Scholarship, in the Brenda Clouten Memorial Traveling Scholarship for a Young Achiever in the Visual Arts 2016. This is her first time exhibiting a combination of video, installation and photography works.  Conveying a strong message of environmental conservation, exploring the link between global warming and animal agriculture’s plight on the natural wold.  The Finalists exhibition is on at Maitland Regional Gallery until early Feburary 2017.

Two of Liss’ works were selected as finalist pieces in the Newcastle Emerging Artist Prize.  Featuring in both photography and painting.

OCTOBER 2015

Liss was one of two artists selected to have a complete show of works in the inaugural Sydney Hall & Wilcox Emerging Artist Acquisition Exhibition Program alongside Sydney artist Genevieve Reynolds. This exhibition of recent works is on show until Mid December and can be viewed by appointment, please contact Liss or the Hall & Wilcox Sydney offices to arrange a time.

Liss with her finalist piece ‘Power and Denial’, oil on board, in the Newcastle Emerging Artist Exhibition for 2015 (http://ncac.org.au/neap/).  This piece is an expression of the power behind the sexuality of a woman and in turn the entrapment of physical human desire.

Liss was named as one of four finalists in the Brenda Clouten Memorial Traveling Scholarship for a Young Achiever in the Visual Arts, this resulted in the opportunity to hang alongside the 2014 Archibald prize exhibition at the Maitland Regional Art Gallery.
